A Note on Genealogy
While the pursuit of one's family roots is a noble and rewarding endeavor, we at the Bridge Line Historical Society can only point you towards other organizations that may be able to help you. We do not have any employee records from the Delaware & Hudson and have no way to research these types of questions.
Most of the corporate records from the Delaware & Hudson were destroyed in a fire in 1991, shortly after Canadian Pacific took over the railroad. Those records that did survive were given to the New York State Library. Most of the D&H materials in the library have not been cataloged. They are looking for volunteers to assist in the organization and cataloguing of these records. They may be contacted at:
New York State Library, Genealogy Division - (518) 474-5161
Another recommendation is that you contact the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board by clicking here. They may also be contacted at 844 N. Rush Street, Chicago, IL 60611 or at (312) 751-4500.
